The Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași organised the EC2U Student Event entitled “Shaping the Future through EU elections”, between 15-17 May. Students from the Partner Universities of the Alliance, as well as from the University of Lviv, gathered for the occasion.

The event’s main activity was a debate modeled after the European Parliament, during which the students focused on the importance of the EU elections and the active involvement of European citizens in the electoral process. Another highlight was the round table hosted by the Iași City Hall, during which participating students exchanged views on European integration with experts from various fields of activity, such as local authorities, media, higher education, and NGOs. The event also included a city tour, an intercultural workshop, a picnic lunch in the Botanical Garden, and sports activities.

By attending the event, students had the opportunity to learn more about the democratic process of the European Union and to develop their sense of belonging to the EU. They also were grateful for the cultural enrichment and to discover a new city, as well as the chance to network and build international friendships.
