A panel of top-notch experts has reviewed the impact of technology and innovation in the agricultural sector. The conference, broadcasted live from the University of Salamanca TV studios, has explored the latest technological advances in digital agriculture and smart farming.

The University of Salamanca hosted the sixth episode of the ‘Virtual Lecture Series’ from the USAL Television studios. This edition focused on the influence of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) on the progression of Agriculture 4.0, allowing an unparalleled optimisation of agricultural productivity.

The speakers explored how a novel paradigm of digital agriculture, grounded in intelligent data analysis, is propelling precision agriculture, transforming it into smart agriculture.

The conference also delved into how technology, continuous automation, and the monitoring of agricultural tasks provide farmers with precise, real-time information to improve decision-making.

The conference, moderated by Professor Chabela de la Torre from the Faculty of Economics and Business, featured the following speakers:

  • Diego González-Aguilera, Professor of Engineering at the University of Salamanca and Director of the TIDOP Research Unit.
  • Luis Enrique Corredera, Director of Innovation and Digital Transformation at Deloitte.
