Following her fruitful visit to the University of Coimbra, Céline Magnant (the Director of the Culture and Student Life Department at the University of Poitiers) went in September 2019 on a mission to another EC2U partner, the University of Turku, accompanied by her counterpart from Coimbra ,Teresa Batista, in order to further develop the cultural collaborations within the network.
During Celine and Teresa’s stay, many meetings and visits were organized in order for them to gain a better understanding of how students and cultural life is organized at UTU and of how their projects in this field are organized and managed (methodology of cultural mediation, financing mechanism, students involvement, etc.)
An immediate collaboration project was proposed in the musical field. More specifically, the creation of a workshop on medieval music is being planned through the collaboration between Professor Marika Räsänen, board member of the Turku Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies and the Centre for advanced study of medieval civilization of the University of Poitiers.
Also, many discussions were held around how to create professional opportunities for students through the different cultural events organized within the EC2U Alliance.
