The aim of the “Campus of European University” event was to promote alliances and transnational cooperation in the fields of higher education, research, and innovation. This event is a key example of the European strategy for the development of all Higher Education Institutions and truly contributes to “building bridges for effective European higher education cooperation”.
Representants from the seven countries of the EC2U Alliance gathered in Versailles to meet with peers from other European Alliances during the “Village of Alliance”. This was the opportunity to participate in conferences and workshops, as well as share best practices across Europe.
Feedback from the University of Pavia delegation
The UNIPV delegation, composed of Professor Ilaria Poggiolini (EC2U Connect Centre Leader), Andrea Pichelli (Globec Center manager), and Alberto Forte (International projects referent for Globec and EC2U Local Coordinator), highly appreciated exchanging with colleagues from other alliances and participating in different discussion sessions. These interactions were helpful to align the EC2U activities with European strategies and values. This was also an opportunity for EC2U to share what the Alliance has achieved so far with the public; the EC2U Booth was full of posters and videos, and sparked the interest of several visitors.
“Participating in these events is important to narrow the gap between the academic world and civil society, and to understand the impact that these ambitious and innovative projects have on citizens. The European Alliances are the future and they have a great potential in contributing to building a European identity, strengthening the sense of belonging to the EU, and defending the values of democracy and freedom of movement”
Alberto Forte.
