Hosted by the University of Salamanca, a new EITEN Spotlight session explored how universities can foster entrepreneurial talent, support startup creation, and create stronger links between ideas, innovation, and societal impact. Held on 14 April 2026, the event brought together participants for an open discussion on university entrepreneurship with Brad Deveson, a startup mentor based in Sydney.
The session was organised within the framework of EITEN, the Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Transfer Experts’ Network, an initiative developed under the EC2U Innovation Hub. Drawing on his experience in one of the world’s most dynamic startup ecosystems, Deveson shared practical insights into how universities can help entrepreneurial ideas move from early-stage concepts to initiatives with real market and societal potential.
His talk focused on mentoring, venture development, and commercialisation pathways, while also opening up a broader conversation on the role of universities in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship. Designed as an open and interactive exchange, the session invited participants to reflect on the support structures needed to turn talent, knowledge, and ideas into tangible impact.
With this new edition of EITEN Spotlight, the University of Salamanca and the EC2U Innovation Hub continue to promote dialogue around entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer, and innovation across the Alliance.
