What are the Science Battles?

A Science Battle is a game like event which aims to promote sciences and research, while showing the public how researchers concretely tackle a new research question. The concept was initiated by the University of Turku in 2016 and is now expanded as a battle between the members of the European Campuses of City Universities.
For the 1st round in 2021, 3 teams of 6 researchers from the universities of Poitiers (France), Turku (Finland) and Pavia (Italy) competed and after a tight match, the team from Pavia won the first ever EC2U Science Battle. In 2022, the Universities of Coimbra, Iasi, and Jena will have their turn to compete against each other. Then, on the Researchers’ Night of 2023, the final competition will be fought between the winners of the opening rounds, the University of Pavia and the winner of 2022.
