The 2nd edition of the EC2U PhD Intensive Course on "Machine learning techniques & text processing tools applied to the study of linguistic diversity & cultural perceptions" is approaching and will take place in Pavia from 6 to 8 June 2023.

The training, organized in collaboration with the University of Poitiers and the University of Turku, within the Virtual Institute for Quality Education, will be hosted in this edition by the University of Pavia and organized locally by Professor Elisabetta Jezek and PhD candidate Costanza Marini.

An international scientific committee composed of professors Elisabetta Jezek (University of Pavia), Kristiina Taivalkoski-Shilov (University of Turku), Freiderikos Valetopoulos (University of Poitiers), has selected up to 5 doctoral students enrolled in the field of humanities and social sciences, from each of the partner universities by EC2U.

The students, who will arrive in Pavia on 5 June, will receive an EC2U scholarship to participate in the training.

In the following three days, students will attend workshops and lessons on digital linguistics, machine learning, text processing tools, translation technologies. There will also be cultural and social activities with the other EC2U students and with the community of the University of Pavia.
