From March 24 to 26, the EC2U Doctoral Workshop “Linguistic and Cultural Diversity: European Dynamics and Intercontinental Entanglements” took place at Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena (Germany).
The meeting offered doctoral students an opportunity to present their research, participate in academic discussions, and network within the framework of the EC2U Virtual Institute of Quality Education (VIQE).
The Doctoral Workshop focused on the role of linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe, with participation from early-career researchers across various disciplines, with a particular emphasis on linguistics and cultural studies. Participants explored research areas such as minorities and their languages, as well as on current challenges in post-migrant societies, including in literary and media forms. Some presentations also examined intercontinental connections from historical, postcolonial, or cosmopolitan perspectives.
