From 25 to 27 June 2025, the University of Pavia will host the EC2U Doctoral Annual Colloquium. This three-day international event will bring together PhD candidates, supervisors, and academic staff from EC2U partner universities to reflect on quality assurance, professional development, and the strategic evolution of doctoral education in Europe.

The 2025 edition, held in the historic Palazzo San Tommaso, will feature a rich programme of keynote speeches, thematic sessions, parallel working groups, and round tables, all designed to foster meaningful engagement, mutual learning, and institutional exchange.

The programme will give significant attention to career mentoring, with opportunities for dialogue between doctoral students and supervisors, as well as interactive sessions with local innovation stakeholders. These exchanges will explore the links between academic careers, entrepreneurship, and innovation ecosystems. Topics such as transversal competences, soft skills development, and the role of doctoral education in shaping socially responsible researchers will also be addressed.

The EC2U Doctoral Colloquium offers participants the chance to build lasting connections with peers across Europe, share best practices in supervision and doctoral support, and explore new opportunities for international collaboration.
