What can we do to improve health within our universities and their urban environment? Which organizational structures can support sustainable health and urban sustainability? How can we create satisfying and fulfilling study and work experiences? Which improvements can be deduced from real-life data?
The Summer School “Healthy Campus: Intervention, Prevention and Transfer” (22-25 May 2023) is an opportunity for students to explore an all-encompassing approach for health promotion, and simultaneously offers university and city employees the opportunity to learn how to support healthy structures through topics such as:
Through interactive workshops and input sessions as well as hands-on activities, the EC2U Summer School strongly encourages active participation with the goal of real-life transfer: to propose concepts for establishing health promotion structures and well-being measures at their own respective universities and cities. Together we can create Healthy Campuses, promoting health and well-being within our EC2U universities and communities.
The program of the Healthy Campus Summer School will allow students and teachers to share in and contribute to activities and events of the EC2U Forum and the University of Jena Health Week within the framework of the “Community of Action”.
Applications are now closed.
The University of Jena is one of the first universities to incorporate a University Health Management System with the goal to implement an all-encompassing health and safety culture for all students and employees.
The Healthy Campus project follows a unique approach based on the consideration of the university members’ voices and their active engagement as key actors in the process. The results of the health and well-being questionnaires shed light on employees’ and students’ health and well-being in a holistic way, including issues such as work-life balance, nutrition, sports, financial situations, parenthood, discrimination experiences, physical and mental health status, health behavior, and many more.
