The EC2U Alliance is about creating the future of Higher Education. To do so, EC2U places, at the heart of its missions, the students and staff of the seven Partner universities. As our actions impact the members of this European academic community, the Alliance strives at continually adapting to this community’s needs and expectations. The EC2U Alliance, therefore, collected feedback from across the EC2U Campus to build upon the students and staff’s opinions and further involve them in the development of Alliance. A survey was sent out to students and staff with questions about the Alliance and its activities with one aim: understanding what is known about the Alliance and how can EC2U improve its actions?

An active community

Shared missions, values, and vision

“European”, “education”, “opportunities” a few words that both students and staff used to describe EC2U that clearly show that the community understand the missions of the Alliance. A step further into the analysis shows that people believe in this project and the opportunities the Alliance can bring.

“A wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues and students in a larger academic community, sharing the same values and interests for sustainable future.” – a member of staff

“It’s a community where European’s students and professors can share on different project or different thing about education and research. It can help all European countries to understand different culture. To better understanding each other’s and to create a stronger Europe from an academic point of view.” – a student

“A very important step towards the future of Higher Education in Europe which implies challenges but especially a lot of chances and an enormous potential” – a student

“A wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues and students in a larger academic community, sharing the same values and interests for sustainable future.” – a member of staff

Access to the EC2U opportunities

Global feedback shows that the EC2U Community values the actions of the Alliance and consider them particularly relevant. For example, the Joint Master’s Programmes are increasingly visible, and respondents gave positive feedback on the available opportunities such as skill acquisition and mobility.
EC2U events, like the EC2U Forum, clearly strengthen the feeling of belonging to an active European community. Satisfaction rates from student and staff participants are above 75% and other events (such as the Science Battle) have clearly been successful.

Points of improvements

The survey was the opportunity to collect ideas from the academic community. One question was, for example: “What suggestions can you bring to promoting the Joint Master’s Programmes?”
“Create a forum with experienced managers / supervisors in activity to allow exchanges with students (current master’s students or interested future students) to concretely show the possible professions”
“Emphasizing the seamless integration of multiple European mobilities as part of the master’s program”
All suggestions have been shared with the EC2U Executive Committee and will be taken into consideration in the future development of the Alliance.
This feedback is bringing us the EC2U Alliance a step closer to creating a virtuous project that acts for the people across the EC2U Campus. The Alliance values its community’s feedback. Other surveys will be sent out to the community to gather further information.
